Muara Putus MPR Observation Report Dec 19, 2011

Dear colleagues,

Some problems had occurred during MPR observations on December 19 afternoon. Anyway, the condition had been recovered to normal, and the observation could continue until this report is made.

13:05 LT - PLN power fault (blackout) for about 5 seconds. Tx stopped. The observation restarted at 13:20 LT.

13:25 LT - PLN second blackout, for about 5 seconds (again). Tx and ACU stopped. ACU error status, AZ servo drive (internal software) error.

13:30 LT - ACU error recovered by switching ON and OFF the Radar Cabinet Main Breaker.

13:35 LT - PLN third blackout, just after TX preheating process finished. The blackout was longer. Genset started but then stopped after several seconds due to oil pressure fault. MPR stopped completely. I visually could see the thunderstorm occurred around Tiku area (from MPR site).

13:40 LT - PLN power returned, but MPR trailer Air Conditioner (AC) could not start. It's indicated from RAVIS as well. MPR got power supply, however the main system (Radar, ACU, Tx) could not start the observation due to AC problem. I tried to restart AC by RAVIS and manually (from the switch inside trailer and AC indoor main breaker/1F3), but it stopped immediately just after few seconds. The LCD was blinking, indicated an error.

14:00 LT - PLN fourth blackout. The longest one. I decided to take the external power cable (PLN) off from the MPR trailer and I checked the genset cabinet.

The coolant level was OK. I opened the genset box, and I found oil spill on the bottom (inside) of the box. Anyway, I could not found the source of leakage. I took some oil provided by SELEX, and add it to the genset oil tank. I switched off MPR from the main breaker before testing the genset. I try to run genset once again, and it run without any problems.

After the genset could run for 10 minutes without any interruptions, I decided to continue MPR observation using only genset power.

16:40 - Genset mode changed to manual. MPR restarted from main breaker. The system was working well. ACU and AC showed no problem.

17:00 - MPR observation restarted. Thunderstorm occurred at Muaraputus just few minutes after MPR observation restarted.

17:15 - GDRX-SP warning (yellow). It recovered automatically.

18:40 - MPR air conditioner was stopped again. MPR observation stopped. This time it occured because of AC Indor Main Breaker (1F3) tripped. Anyway, the observation could continue after I switched it back to ON postion.

The MPR observation continued since then without any problems. The more detail reports about data observed by MPR will follow.

Best regards,

-ardhi-
